Accounting software for grey cloth traders

A grey trader buys grey taka by taka, sells it as it is or sends it to a mill, and settles with weavers, mills and brokers in between. The work is in lots and meters; the books are in rupees and GST. GintiDesk was built in Surat for exactly this trade.

What a grey trader does in GintiDesk

  • Grey Purchase with each taka's meters, and the supplier's invoice number checked against duplicates.
  • Issue to Mill straight from the purchase row, with the Mill Lot No on every issue.
  • Mill Receipt with shortage worked out and the mill charge costed into the finished cloth.
  • Grey Fabric Stock and Finished Goods Stock apart, at cost.
  • Brokerage on grey purchases by percent or per lot.
  • TDS on Purchases (194Q) watched supplier by supplier through the year.

And the books underneath

Every entry posts its own accounting: ledgers, outstanding, GST registers, trial balance, P&L and balance sheet follow without a second entry. Your CA can open the same books from their own login.

Questions

Can I sell grey without sending it to the mill?

Yes. Grey is an item like any other and goes out on a Sales Invoice in pieces and meters.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It opens in a browser on a computer, tablet or phone.
